DESERVING OF JUDGMENT
FIRST THE BAD NEWS
America's role in Bible prophecy culminates in judgment which God foretells throughout the Bible. You may be thinking, "God why are you judging me with the rest of America? I'm not as bad as other people."
Everything was good when God created man and woman, but it didn't take long for the first man and woman to choose to disobey. (Genesis 1 - 3) God made it clear, right from the beginning, that the judgment for opposing His commands would be death, physical and eternal. (Genesis 2:17; Romans 6:23a)
From the beginning until now, everyone has followed in the same path. God says, 'all have sinned and come short of My glory". (Romans 3:23)
OFFERED SALVATION
THE GOOD NEWS
Sin's wages are death (Romans 6:23) but God put a plan in place, right from the beginning, to cover those wages Himself. (Genesis 3:15; John 1:1-13; John 3:1-17)
Jesus died in our place so that we wouldn't have to pay for our sin with eternal death. God says, "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23b)
YOUR RESPONSE TO GOD'S OFFER
THE CHOICE IS YOURS
As with any gift, it is only useful to you if you accept it and open it. Jesus says, "you must be born again...whoever believes in Me will not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:3,16) And he also says, "if you love Me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15)
The offer still stands, will you admit that you have sinned and are deserving of judgment? Will you believe that Jesus took care of that judgment as evidenced by His death, burial and resurrection? (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)
When you confess that you are a sinner and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead you receive eternal life! But not only that, God makes another promise to you, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38) With this gift He enables you, by His Spirit to keep His commandments and walk in power, peace and friendship with Him. (Romans 8:1-17)
